SONY "WF-C700N": Instruction manual, explanation for those who do not know how to use it

This page summarizes the instruction manual for the "WF-C700N" series, one of Sony's wireless earphones. If you do not know how to use it or the specific operation method, please refer to it.

How to use: How to start

1) Wear it

Rotate the headset to fit the shape of your ears. R (right side) and L (left side) are printed on the inside of the earphone body.

2) Connect Bluetooth

When you take the headset out of the charging case, it will automatically power on. Once you make a Bluetooth connection to your device, the connection will be established.

More detailed settings can be made from Sony's Headphones Connect app.

3) Operate with headset

By pressing the button on the left earphone (L), you can switch between the noise canceling function and the external sound intake function (ambient sound mode).

Press the right (R) button once: play/pause,

Press twice: cue the next song

Press 3 times: Go to the beginning of the previous (currently playing) song

Long press: Activate/deactivate voice assist function (Google app/Siri)

To connect via Bluetooth

WF-C700N can be used with devices that support Bluetooth connection.

When using Bluetooth, you must register the device to be connected in advance. This registration is called pairing. Pairing with iPhone and Android is possible.

Once paired, there is no need to pair again and the device will connect automatically.

How to disconnect Bluetooth connection

1) Disconnect the Bluetooth connection by operating the Bluetooth device

A notification tone will sound from both headsets to notify you that the Bluetooth connection has been disconnected.

2) Place the headset in the charging case and close the lid.

Place both headsets in the charging case and close the lid to turn off the headset.

How to use the noise canceling function

By using the noise canceling function, you can suppress surrounding noise and concentrate on the music. Effective in crowded places or places with loud environmental sounds.

1) Remove the headset from the charging case

The power will turn on automatically and the device will be connected to the device that has Bluetooth settings. When using the headset for the first time or immediately after initializing the headset, the noise canceling function is automatically turned on when the headset is turned on. From the second time onwards, the previous settings are retained.

2) Press the button on the L side to switch the noise canceling function.

Each time you press the button, you can switch between the external sound capture function and noise canceling.

A notification tone will sound from both headsets at the same time.

important point

・If you do not use the included earpiece, the noise canceling function will not be fully effective.

・If the headset is not securely attached to your ears, the noise canceling function may not work properly.

・Do not cover the microphones of the left and right headsets with your hands. The noise canceling function and external sound intake function may become ineffective, or a beeping sound (howling) may occur. In this case, remove your hands from the left and right microphones.

Depending on the quiet location or the type of noise, you may not feel the noise canceling effect or you may feel that the noise has become louder.

The noise canceling function is most effective against noises in the low frequency range, such as those from vehicles and air conditioning. Not all sounds are canceled out.

Volume adjustment

If you change the button function to "Volume Control" in the Sony Headphones Connect app, you can adjust the volume using the button to which the function is assigned.

increase volume

Pressing the button once during playback increases the volume by one step.

reduce volume

If you hold down the button during playback, the volume will decrease continuously. Release the button when the volume reaches a suitable level.

A warning tone will sound when the volume reaches maximum or minimum.

important point

The volume cannot be adjusted using the headset in its default state. If you do not change the button function to "Volume Control" using the Sony Headphones Connect app, you will need to adjust the volume on the connected device. You can also adjust it on the app.

When connected to an iPhone, pressing and holding the button on the R side may activate Siri.

360 Reality Audio

360 Reality Audio is a new music experience using Sony's 360 stereophonic technology. By attaching location information to sound sources such as vocals, choruses, and instruments, and placing them in the stadium space, you can experience an immersive three-dimensional sound field as if you were surrounded by live performances by artists.

To use 360 Reality Audio, you need to download and use a music streaming service app compatible with 360 Reality Audio on your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet.
By optimizing the sound field and the acoustic characteristics of the headset using the Headphones Connect app, you can enjoy a more realistic sense of presence.

Sound quality mode

You can select the sound quality mode during Bluetooth playback. You can switch settings and check the sound quality mode in the Headphones Connect app.

Sound quality priority: Gives priority to the playback sound quality.

Connection priority: Prioritizes connection resistance.

Playback time may be shorter depending on sound quality, usage conditions, etc.
Depending on your environment, you may not be able to improve the sound interruption even if you prioritize the connection.

receive a call

If the connected device supports the Bluetooth profile HFP (Hands-free-Profile) or HSP, you can connect the headset to Bluetooth and make hands-free calls.

1) Connect the headset and smartphone via Bluetooth in advance.

2) When you receive a call, quickly press the button on either the L or R side twice to accept the call.

3) When the call ends, quickly press the button on either the L or R side twice to hang up.

If you receive a call while music is playing, the music will be paused and you will hear the ringtone.

If the music that's playing doesn't pause, stop it manually.

You can talk through the microphones on the left and right headsets.
