How about EVICIV's 4K mobile monitor for PS5 output? Verification by actual use

PS5 has improved graphics performance and is now capable of rendering at high resolutions.

We would like to play games in high-resolution 4K quality anyway.

However, TVs and monitors that support 4K output are not readily available due to their large screen sizes and high prices.

Therefore, we would like to introduce a mobile monitor that is perfect for those who want to play games in 4K quality and who want to play games quickly in their spare time, rather than sitting down to play games on a large screen.

Mobile monitors are thin and light, but some of them support up to 3840 x 2160 (4K) output, which is sufficient for PS5 monitors.

In this article, we summarize our impressions of EVICIV's 4K mobile monitors for PS5 output.

If you are not familiar with mobile monitors, you will discover something new.

PS5 and mobile monitor

The monitor used for PS5 output this time is EVICIV's 4K mobile monitor "EVC-1504".

A detailed review can be found in the article below.

Connecting with PS5

There are two connections to the mobile monitor: a PD terminal for power supply from the AC adapter and a standard HDMI terminal to the PS5.

EVICIV's mobile monitor can both feed power and output power with a single USB Type-C cable.

However, since the connection to the PS5 is via standard HDMI, it must be powered by an AC adapter.

Note that some mobile monitors do not have a standard HDMI port. The mobile monitor used in this case supports standard HDMI connection.

When the mobile monitor and PS5 are connected and started up, HDR adjustment will begin first.

EVICIV's 4K mobile monitors also support HDR, which allows for realistic video rendering.

The video output information from the PS5 settings is

  • Resolution: 3840 x 2160 - 60Hz
  • HDR: Supported

The resolution is 3840 x 2160 - 60Hz HDR: Supported.

This allows you to enjoy your games to the fullest with 4K and HDR images even though it is a mobile monitor.

I am the type of person who prefers to enjoy games in a compact space rather than on a large screen, so I am fully satisfied with the mobile monitor.

I actually tried playing a game.

I tried playing "Resident Evil: VILLAGE" with the mobile monitor connected.

Since the screen is taken directly & the image is compressed, I don't think you can tell how good the picture quality is....

The clarity is different when compared to Full HD. I was especially impressed with the image rendering in HDR.

You can also switch the HDR mode on and off from the MENU button on the monitor, so you can compare the two.

Conclusion

This time I used a mobile monitor as an output monitor for PS5, but it depicts images satisfactory enough.

Although it cannot satisfy the need to play games on a large screen, I would rather recommend a mobile monitor to small gamers like me who want to enjoy games in a small and compact time.
